Audi RS6 Avant Gets Tuned up to 702hp by MTM

I'm not the biggest fan of station wagons but I can change my mind if they bring in the arguments. Audi did. Actually MTM did. How? They got their hands on Audi's RS6 Avant and managed to improve the 580-hp twin-turbo V10 derived from Lamborghini Gallardo, into a small powerplant that goes up to 702 hp now. That's what I call improvement, wouldn't you?

audi-mtm-rs6.jpg
How they did it? Pretty simple. An ECU tweak raised the power to 656hp and then a stainless steel exhaust and a new air filter made it big: 702 hp.

So what we got here? A hatchback that can fight with most of the supercars we've known by now. It goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and has some reserved carbon fiber aero bits, a new set of brakes, revised dampers and 21-inch wheels. That's something I'd be willing to te against a Gallardo myself. Would you?

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Tuned by Rhys Millen Racing

hyundai-genesis-coupe-rmr-show-car.jpg

This sure isn't a car for the eco-geeks, but I'm sure lots of guys should enjoy driving the little beast. It's a Hyundai Genesis Coupe that got tuned by the great Rhys Millen Racing (RMR), and dubbed the "Art of Speed" Genesis Coupe.

It's a show car that should be presented at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, early November in Las Vegas.

"The focus will be on the engine and a radical body design to complement the factory body lines. We are going to transform the Genesis Coupe into an apex-carving machine with jaw-dropping looks. We think it has the possibility of being one of the coolest cars at the show," said Rhys Millen, professional race driver and founder of RMR.

Under the hood, Genesis Coupe show car has a 2.0-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with RMR turbo kit and will be equipped with a heavy-duty HKS sequential transmission and a K&W coil over suspension. Beast, I said, right? I'd sure like to give it a spin, wouldn't you?

New Ford Ka, Official in Paris

For some unknown reason, I never liked Ford Ka. I thought it's very small, doesn't have an eye-catching design and to be honest it was very expensive. But wait a sec, because Ford has news. They are going to make the new Ford Ka official, at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, but we're going to break the surprise and tell you that we got our hands on a leaked picture and some specs.

new-ford-ka.jpgApparently the next-gen Ford Ka will use the Fiat 500 platform, will borrow the 1.25-litre petrol powerplant and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel, and some sort of special suspension tuning. Again I'm not impressed but at least there's a change.

What do you think?

Nano becomes Fiat ???

Until today I never knew that Tata is considering launching the Nano model to the global market, under the Fiat badge, but I think it's not such a bad idea because I'm not sure if people would trust a car (mainly for security and quality) that is built in India.

tata-nano.jpg
The reasoning behind the decission, is that Tata and Fiat already work together to distribute commercial trucks outside India and believes the Fiat badge might have more appeal to potential buyers from the Western market. They're right.

Nano will firstly be launched with a 33bhp petrol engine but will eventually be followed by a 800cc twin-cylinder turbodiesel developed in Germany.

Fast and Furious FOUR

fast-and-furious.jpg
Most of the rumors in Hollywood say that the Fast and Furious returns for the fourth installment. To the delight of many, the stars of the original film will be making their return and that includes Vin Diesel and Paul Walker teaming up yet again for the ultimate chapter. Just like the other movies they're going push the limits of what’s possible behind spectacular cars (like always) so expect highly pimped rides and lots of screeching tyres in this high-octane action packed movie. The film is due to be released next year.

Alfa Romeo Brera S - limited edition

The Alfa Romeo Brera S (Speciale) made in collaboration with Prodrive is only going to be sold in Engladnd and production will be limited to 500 hundred individually numbered models. Alfa, that's not enough!!! Mark my words.

alfa-romeo-brera-s.jpg
Two existing petrol engines will be made avaialable: the 185Hp 2.2 litre and the 260Hp 3.2 V6 engines. The suspension, interior, exterior and a new exhaust system has been installed by Prodrive. For better handling the new stiffer springs and dampers and the fact that the car was also slightly lowered (-10mm) really helped.

alfa-romeo-brera-s-interior.jpg
The exterior of the Brera S boasts lightweight 19″ alloy wheels with Pirelli PZero Nero Tyres ispired by the Alfa 8C Competizione and the interior is dressed in black leather completed with red stitiching and the centre console is accentuated with a dark finish.

I sure love it.

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series Wallpapers

mercedes-benz-sl65-amg.jpg
Ask a mortal like me if he likes the new Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series and you'll get a big "hell yes". Why? Because it's one of the best design Mercedes-Benz ever came out with, and the company understood otherwise they wouldn't have launched a dedicated website for it.Trust me when I tell you it's loaded with goodies and you'll enjoy every little second you spend there. But did I tell you they have 6 new wallpapers available : normal, iPhone sized and widescreen. How can you say no? I already have one on my laptop and going to install one on my Nokia, too.

Audi's new S tronic gearbox : ROCKS

We don't usually talk about car parts over here, but the new Audi S tronic gearbox really rocks and deserves attention because it can handle up to 406 lb.-ft. of torque. And that's a LOT. If the S tronic (WV DSG) was a great solution for those that needed to shift manually on an automatic gearbox, it had a small downsize: only cars withless then 258 lb-ft used it. Things are about to change.

audi-s5.jpg
The Europeans will first get the new gearbox in the Q5 SUV and the S5 coupe, where it'll supplant the 6-speed auto. The bad thing (for now) is that the S tronic is not going to be available in the States any time soon. Too bad!

Porsche Panamera Starting From $127,000

We're all waiting for Porsche Panamera to arrive next year (or those that can afford it), the main things you should know is that it's going to have a 4.8-liter 520-hp twin turbo V8 under the hood and it will cost some $197,000. Cheap!

Porsche%20Panamera.jpg
Other than this beast there's also a smaller guy for sale, with a  3.6-liter V6 turbo engine that features a seven-speed PDK gearbox and 186 little horsies. That's not cheap either $127,000, and should only arrive in 2010.

For eco-geeks there's also a 300-hp hybrid model coming in 2011. It will pair the V6 with a 100-hp electric motor. If that wouldn't be enough, Porsche is preparing the V10 from the Carrera GT or Audi's monstrous V12 TDI. Like it ?

IMSA gets 584hp from a Lambo Gallardo LP560-4

Geneva Motor Show was the first place we got to lay our eyes on the Lamborghini LP560-4. The name says it all and it's true we will enjoy nothing less than 560 horsies from a powerful 5.2-liter V10 engine. But all these are just part of an average day at the office for Lamborghini I must say.

IMSA made a little something for all you lucky owners of a Gallardo: a new look to your baby.

You will get a new set of lightweight alloys and a sport suspension set up, than can be combined with a carbon fiber rear-wing spoiler and a new sport exhaust system that makes sweet music from the engine but it also increases the Gallardo LP560 V10's output to 584Hp.

Hell yesssss baby! Let there be road and let there be enough money for gas.

Jaguar Celebrates 60 Years Of XK

How many of you remember that classic and elegant XK120? Well, if you don't I'll tell you that it was first presented back in 1948 at the London Motor Show. Back in those days people were stunned by its 3.4-liter straight-six developing 160 horsepower. It soon earned the title of the fastest production car worldwide (120 mph).

jag-xk60_450op.jpg
Year after year its followers: the XK140 in 1955 and the XK150 in 1958 were also making the rules on the streets leaving their adversaries way behind. Last but not least we cannot forget about the XKSS because only 16 D-Type race cars like that were made all over the world.

That being said, all those above mentioned beauties will be celebrated during the 2008 British Motor Show in a unique way. After 60 years from the moment XK120 has seen the light of day, Jaguar introduces on July 22 the XK60. Unfortunately this is all we know so far but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted if something new happens.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT - World's Fastest EV

Green performance cars have made quite an impression in the last few years and more and more drivers thinks about changing their 4-wheel companion. Whenever you're thinking environment – friendly you're thinking Fisker Karma, Tesla Roadster and now… Ultimate Aero EV.

ultimate-aero-nv-3.jpg
Their biggest advantage is their attractiveness that combined with high performance has success written all over. That being said we present you the new and extraordinary Shelby SuperCars electric hyper coupe.

blueblackdoorup_450.jpg
According to the manufacturer, this beauty will have enough power to last 6 years from only one charge. Isn't that amazing or what? And if that isn't enough, it hides under its hood two five-hundred horsepower electric motors. Rumor is that this is only a bunch of lies because no battery will support that kind of motorization unless it's a huge one, but we'll see.

That being said, all we can do is wait and see if this is a real car or Barbie's dream oldsmobile.

Maserati Spyder - Spy and Artist Rendering

It's times like this one when I really hate the fact I'm not rich enough to buy a Maserati. One year after being revealed in Geneva (2007), the new Maserati GranTurismo (the Spyder) was caught testing at Nürburgring.

new-maserati-spyder-rendering.jpg
Things were first delayed because Ferarri had to work on their California model, but now everything is rolling. And smooth it goes. The new Spyder is a short version of the Maserati GranTurismo coupe platform featuring a 405hp 4.2-liter Ferrari V8 engine with a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Maserati%20Spyder.jpg
Now tell me, do you hate not being THAT rich, knowing it's expected to launch in 2009?
